The case has a small nick out of the edge of the top causing the loss of the retainer for the clip, the other retainer for
the clip is broken.
The back shows a number of very fine scratched lines. They may either simply be decoration, or evidence that an
inscription has been removed, in which case the the scale plate has been re-silvered. I favour the first hypothesis.
